Suzuki Violin Program

You are invited to join the
Suzuki Violin Program
at Prince of Peace Catholic Montessori School

Welcome to the Suzuki violin program at Prince of Peace! I am so happy that Principal Tony Barkley reached out to me and invited me to come teach violin at Prince of Peace. I look forward to getting to know each of you and I am excited to help you embark on the rewarding journey of learning how to play the violin.
Our first-class will be on Monday morning, October 5th at Prince of Peace. We currently have 4 students registered. I will send out an email in the next few days with the exact time of the class.
Students in the violin program will be pulled out of class 1 day per week for a 60-minute violin class. Students will need to make up the work from the class from which they were pulled out.
Tuition for the semester in the amount of $135 ($15/class, 9 classes for the semester) will be due on October 5th. Checks may be made payable to Sarah Thomas. Please leave your tuition payment with Karen at the front desk and I will pick it up after class on October 5th. If it is more convenient, you can also mail your check to me at 6963 Thorndike Rd. Apt. 2, Cincinnati, OH 45227.

Suzuki Violin Class dates:

In anticipation of our first class, please contact the Baroque Violin Shop to rent a violin for your child. Each student will be fitted for an instrument at the shop to make sure that it is the right size.
Each student will need Suzuki Violin Book 1 for our class, which will be included with the violin rental. You can contact David Smarelli at 513-206-8978 or sign up for their violin rental program online at
Let me know if you have any questions! I am looking forward to a great year of music-making!

Principal Tony Barkley and CCM Alumni Sarah Thomas & Natalie Orth are teaming up to start a Suzuki Violin Program here at Prince of Peace!

● The program is open to all grades and ages.
● Classes will last approximately 60 minutes and will have a maximum of 5 students per class.
● The classes will take place during school hours and will be incorporated into the school day.
● The cost per class is $15 per student. The cost for the year will be finalized once we set start and end dates.

Learning the violin is really fun! Students in the Suzuki program will learn the foundations of playing the violin and will have learned the Twinkle Theme and Twinkle Variations by the end of the school year. In developing this program, we hope to instill a love of music and beauty in the students and to help them cultivate virtues such as responsibility and perseverance, which will carry over into their daily lives. Students will also learn how to manage their time, memorize, and create goals and stick to them.
