Dear Parents,
Today we started our rotten apple experiment. We will see what happens to the apples that were touched by unwashed hands, hands washed with soap and water, hands cleaned by hand sanitizer, and hands washed with water only. The children will be making and documenting observations over the next two weeks.
This week we have also talked about the planets, the characteristics of living things, and the importance of filling out our workplans. Please remember to check your child’s orange folder every night to sign their workplan and see if they have any assignments that went home with them.
Homework is due this Thursday.
Our first spelling test is also Thursday. Your child’s words should be in his/her homework folder.
This week Brad Howard will be coming in for spelling tests and Ketti Obert will be coming in on Friday morning for homework folders.
Pick-A-Stick is Thursday as well. The maximum amount of money your child can bring is $1.00. We are trying to reinforce the importance of finishing work on time, so the children who are behind in assignments will not be able to participate in Pick-A-Stick this week.
We are starting Spanish with Sister Mary Carmella this week. She will be spending a half an hour with each homeroom per week. We are very excited about this addition to the curriculum!
Mya, Matthew S., Hannah, and Jenna have signed up for show and tell on Friday.
Today is the hottest day of the year. Please keep helping your child remember to bring in a water bottle to keep cool and hydrated when it gets this hot out..
Have a great week,
Katie and Sara
