Dear Parents and Families,
This week has been a productive week for the children, as they have focused their energies on getting assignments completed. The children, though excited for spring and summer, have been able to focus on their work and are excited about what they are learning. We have begun to really dive into our
Australia studies, the Timeline of Life and invertebrates. It will be a busy, yet exciting finish to the year!
The children will be receiving their project assignments for
Australia this Friday. They will be due Thursday, Mary 22 and we will be presenting May 22, May 27 and May 28. We will provide more information about that as the end of the year draws closer, including presentation times for each child and about the feast at the end of the year.
Tomorrow (with weather permitting!) we will be building our compost bin for the school. This is our service learning project as we build environmental awareness for our school and our surrounding community. Please ask your children all about it! A big thank you to Renee Jeffreys, Damian Sells and Stan Obert for supporting us through this process and leading the children through the building of the bin!
There will be spelling tests tomorrow and homework is due.
Please remember that the third grade field trip is May 19 and we will be going to
Big
Bone
State Park.
We are going to see “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” at the Children’s Theater on Friday. Please check with your child for the permission slip that went home with them yesterday.
This week, we have
Amy Frohlich coming in for both spelling tests tomorrow and tech center on Tuesday and Renee Jeffreys coming in for homework folders on Friday.
Thanks and have a great week!
Beth and Katie
