TEACHING EXPERIENCE:
25 years of teaching
7 years Elementary Principal
I have been teaching the 7/8 grade at Prince of Peace for the last 4 years.
I enjoy this age group because they are creative, imaginative, challenging, and energetic! They help keep me young at heart!
I try to make junior high a warm, enjoyable, and fun enviornment for the students. I coombine this with challenging work and high expectations of the students.
I try to give students a variety of projects, such as, the living rosary in October and the living stations or Passion play during Lent. The students have Kindergarten buddies. These students have made pies, celebrated the 100 days of school, made pretzels, and books together.
I enjoy reading, walking, and playing with my grandchildren.

Hello, my name is Devon Schoumacher. This is my 7th year teaching at Prince of Peace School. I attended Midway College in Midway Kentucky and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I taught 3rd grade my first year and then for two years I taught Kindergarten in the morning and 3rd & 4th in the afternoon. We decided to go to full day Kindergarten and I have been teaching that class for 4 years now.
I am married to my wonderful husband, Chip, for four years now. We have a beautiful 2 1/2 year old daughter named Kendall. I enjoy spending time with my family (we are at my parents' or my husbands parents' house just about every weekend), playing soccer and basketball, and of course shopping!

Hello!
I am Ms. DeLay and one of the teachers in the Montessori I classroom. This is my first year at Prince of Peace and I am enjoying it immensely. I graduated in May of 2007 with my Masters degree in Montessori education. I have spent two years prior as an assistant in both a 3-6 classroom and a 6-9 classroom.
I have many hobbies, most of which involve being outside. I love to walk my two dogs and run outside. I also enjoy practicing yoga. I love to cook, though I don't always have the time to do it!
Prince of Peace has been a great school for me to begin my full time teaching career. The administration, parents, students and my fellow teachers have been extremely supportive and cooperative.

Dear Parents and Families,
This week has been a productive week for the children, as they have focused their energies on getting assignments completed. The children, though excited for spring and summer, have been able to focus on their work and are excited about what they are learning. We have begun to really dive into our
Australia studies, the Timeline of Life and invertebrates. It will be a busy, yet exciting finish to the year!
The children will be receiving their project assignments for
Australia this Friday. They will be due Thursday, Mary 22 and we will be presenting May 22, May 27 and May 28. We will provide more information about that as the end of the year draws closer, including presentation times for each child and about the feast at the end of the year.
Tomorrow (with weather permitting!) we will be building our compost bin for the school. This is our service learning project as we build environmental awareness for our school and our surrounding community. Please ask your children all about it! A big thank you to Renee Jeffreys, Damian Sells and Stan Obert for supporting us through this process and leading the children through the building of the bin!
There will be spelling tests tomorrow and homework is due.
Please remember that the third grade field trip is May 19 and we will be going to
Big
Bone
State Park.
We are going to see “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” at the Children’s Theater on Friday. Please check with your child for the permission slip that went home with them yesterday.
This week, we have
Amy Frohlich coming in for both spelling tests tomorrow and tech center on Tuesday and Renee Jeffreys coming in for homework folders on Friday.
Thanks and have a great week!
Beth and Katie
